Life returns to frozen lake

Remote Kaffeklubben Sø (’Coffee Club Lake’) in North Greenland is the World’s northernmost lake. For the last 2.400 years it has been hidden beneath a layer of ice.

However, now the ice has begun to thaw and some of the organisms that disappeared are now returning. Researcher Kurt Kjær from the Centre for GeoGenetics participated in the research.
