New approach to the role of natural selection. Publication in Genetics.

The relative importance of the four fundamental processes driving evolution—genetic drift, natural selection, migration, and mutation—remains largely undetermined. The authors propose a new approach to estimate the role of natural selection in the evolution of modern populations, using datasets collected over multiple generations - and apply the methodology to ancient and modern horse data, allowing a better understanding of the selective pressures and evolutionary history of horse coloration associated with domestication.
