A visit from down under

For a few weeks the Australian summer will be replaced by the cold Copenhagen winter for PhD-student Martyna Molak. Martyna is part of Dr. Simon Ho's Molecular Ecology, Evolution, and Phylogenetics research group at the University of Sydney.

Her research involves a theoretical and computational approach to ancient DNA studies - including post-mortem DNA damage models, estimations of evolutionary timeframes using ancient DNA, phylogenetic inference in Bayesian framework and other issues associated with analyses of ancient DNA. Martyna has a background in analyses of pre-Hispanic South American populations based on genetic data recovered from human remains.
