Ancient DNA laboratories
Two state-of-the-art laboratories dedicated to the manipulation of sources of degraded DNA are present at the Centre. Each laboratory contains several internal sub-laboratories, and is equipped with the conventional laboratory requirements for both sample storage, DNA extraction (in dedicated laminar flow hoods) and PCR set-up (in dedicated isolated rooms).
These laboratories are physically isolated from the laboratories where sources of high-concentration DNA are stored, maintained at positive air pressure, and sourced with HEPA filtered air.
Post-PCR/Modern DNA laboratories
The Centre hosts a suite of laboratories in which modern DNA can be extracted, and where DNA can be analysed post-PCR. The laboratories contain standard molecular biology equipment.
National High-Throughput DNA Sequencing Centre
Centre for Geogenetics hosts this national core facility. Read about facilities and contact info.
